-   The whole stack of paper began feeding in when I was printing. I pulled it back out and since then it only gives me "Error 5700." I unplugged, replugged, rebooted. Nothing has changed.

-   i''m having a similar problem. mines straight out of the box.. removed the standard packaging tape. plugged it into the power supply & turned it on via the on/off switch.. printer power ups, and then makes a god aweful grinding noise.. lcd screen displays Error code 6000 & the Alarm light flashes.. Tried turning it on & off about 20 times.. looked inside & out and there doesn't appear to be anything jammed in a roller etc.... Any ideas??-   traart88

-   service error 5700 printer makes awful noise when first turned on as if paper feed trying to operate-   blackhawk60
i have a Canon Pixma iP6000D and I had similar problems right out of the box also. When I investigated, i found a slotted plastic piece with a spring under it that the bottom tray slides into had been pushed out and up into the paper feed mechanism. I just pulled it back down into place and all was well.

- I should have added, I think its terrible engineering and unacceptable. I won't buy Canon printers again either. I hope this helps someone.
