Problem for Delstar DS-2821 (1 GB) Digital Media Player

DS 821 MP3/MP4 won't operate

Brand new. Battery charged. Turns on but won't do anything. Screen shows zzzzzz (sleeping?) with arrow from MP3 to computer. Various buttons don't seem to activate anything. Manual is no help. Have connected to computer but that doesn't work either.

that just means it is synchronized to the computer it cant do anything ewhen connected except load files take off files and watch/listen to files,, but once disconnected from computer you can use the buttons.
