My sony vaio vgc-la2 wont start and just keeps comming up with missing system operations in the top left hand corner help!

Angelo, do you have the installation CD-ROM that came with the keyboard and mouse? If so, it should work just find with your Sony Vaio VGC-V517G all-in-one computer. Let me know if you have any issues.

have you tried booting in safe mode?

as the system is booting repeatedly press F8 until a menu appears where you use the aarow keys to select safe mode by pressing enter.

try that link, on left hand side of the page it says drivers and right under that is manuals specs and warranty. Should be able to find it in there someplace.

Go down to the third file listing -
CD/DVD Drives - 2file(s)

Left-click on the + sign before,
CD/DVD Drives -2file(s)

If your optical drive is the Sony DW-D56A, download the second file listed,
(Sony DW-D56A DVD -+RW Optical Drive Firmware Update Utility)

I also suggest you download the first file listed also.

Download both files. Open one at a time. Open one file, then install the file. Then open the other file, install it.

Go to the right, and left-click on the icon that looks like a blue World, with a green down arrow under it.

On the next page go to the right, and left-click on that same icon again. (Under the - Download Now - heading)

Hi the problem you describe usually accurse when you have more data on your system than your memory can handle so it tries to compensate in so doing other functions such as the key board get effected. Look at what memory your system is running if it is less than 384 you may need to upgrade to say 512.Hope this helps
