i have a e260 sansa mp3. i just got it 12/25/07. i was listening to some music and some of the information on the song was wrong i was going to fix it. when i plugged it into my computer the mp3 screen went black and now it want turn on.
no mine is a philips i was listening to some music den after like 20 min later i was going to listen to music again and i wont turn on and its fully charged!! man help me diz thing was expensive an i got it 4 ma birthday!!!!!!!!!!
My Sansa mp3 will turn on and the screen says, "SanDisk" and it flashes, and then after about a second the whole thing goes white and it repeats the process, over and over again. This means I can't use at all, and the only ways to turn it off are to put it on Hold so it says "Keys Locked: System Shutdown" or to take out the battery.
Can someone help me? Otherwise I think I'll have to buy an iPod. Ehhh.

Had the same problem, player turned off after low charge, then it wouldn't turn on and showed no reaction when connecting it to my PC. As described here I held the power button for one minute, then was able to turn it on normally and charge it via PC connection.
I saw it mentioned somewhere else....hold down the power button for about a minute. It should come back to life. It just worked for me, after I paniced a little, of course!

I am having the same problem, was playing fine on the way to work today, tried to charge it about ten minutes ago and now nothing will not turn on computer doesn't recognize that it's attached.
Just as I am typing this and holding power button for at least a minute and nothing was happening, I released the power button then waited about five seconds and pressed it again voila the unit powered up, not at the spot I last left it playing but it has returned to life.
I've just plugged it into my computer and it has some response, and is recognized by the computer.
