I'm thinking of buying a LCD computer monitor here in the USA for a friend in Europe.I've read somewhere that most monitors now are multi-voltage (110v-240v) and all that is needed is to replace the power cord with one that has the proper wall plug. Anyone know if this is true? or where i can find out? I entered a HP monitor only because i couldn't post with out an entry, I have not decided on any particular monitor yet Thank You
It's correct! Most (!) of the lcd monitor adapters are Auto-ranging, 90 to 265 VAC, Also the 50Hz (Europe) and 60Hz difference isn't a problem anymore for nowadays monitors, even not with build in power supply monitors.
But be sure that it's really capable of autoranging, ask your dealer or check out the specifications on the box or the website of the manufacturer of your choice!
