I am having a problem downloading the software for Microsoft Lifecam VX-2000 and am trying to follow this solution:
"In my case the LifeCam 2.07 installation problems on Win XP SP3 were related to Microsoft .NET Framework. Figured this out by looking into the temporary directories LifeCam installation creates - it seemed like it was repeatedly extracting and trying to install .NET 3.0 without success. Fixed this by installing .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and all following updates from Windows Update first. Then the LifeCam installation worked fine."
OK. I've downloaded and installed the above program, but exactly what are the necessary updates?

- Thanks for your help, but nothing works. I'm going to take the webcam back to the store. If you were buying a webcam, what would you buy that is problem-free?As for your last answer, I still can't figure out what updates (if any) to download. YOU have to look them up, test them, and then tell me EXACTLY what to do.
As for updates in Microsoft Lifecam VX-2000 software, you have to be able to download it first.That I am unable to do because of the "infinite loop".

Updates are used to remove some bugs(errors), more features and new versions.
If you have installed net.framwork you can use Windows update to install additional updates. You can find it in Internet Explorer under Functions.
For the LifeCam 2.07 software it shoud be a update feature in the program.
