Re: 56 inch RCA rear proj T.V.

My RCA 56 inch projection tv will not come on. When I press the power button on the tv or on the remote, the power light just flashes three times and then it stops. The tv does not come on. I will wait a couple of minutes and then press the power button again, it does the same thing. Then after about many, many minutes the tv comes on. After, it comes on the tv flashes several times then I can watch it. What is the problem?

Sounds like the capicator on the high voltage is swelled, removing the back cover, make sure to unplug the unit first, there is a u shaped heat sink about middle ways of the board, inside that heat sink is a cap,it will be swelled on top of it,its a 2200 35v cap.

I have a 52 inch hdtv model D52W20 television the green light comes on and turns back off three times but nothing else happens is this easy to fix

As long as you dont hear a short whistle each time the light comes on its a easy an inexspensive fix. Replace the CP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors. You can get the repair kit by the same name from and the kit contains the Cd with detailed instructions for the repair.
