No..... (In theory, yes.) In practical application, no. Run HDMI from your source directly to the TV then use digital coaxial or optical for audio to the receiver. There are many problems with HDMI while processing it thru a receiver. For all the info on HDMI problems, Google "HDMI problems" and there are literally 1000's of posts and articles to read regarding the current issues. Hope this helps

I have this receiver hooked up to my dlp that is 6 years old. The sound works fine with my components, but I cannot get the gui to display through hdmi. I have tried composite and still no GUI display. I do get the display from the MCACC set up, but not for the GUI menu, please help.
