Does ur pc recognise ipod. or You can see ur ipod inside itunes or other ipod manager software.

If above things are ok then you are looking for how to transfer music from ipod to itunes. this blog has step by step guide for how to transfer music from ipod to computer and ipod to itunes. this is free of cost.

below is another way of how to transfer music from computer to ipod with the help of third party software.

1)Download iPod Transfer and run it and install on ur computer.
2)Connect you iPod to your computer, and all your iPod files will be automatically shown in the program as the screenshot. You can set the columns display.
3)Select the songs or videos you want to backup, click “Copy” button then specify the backup directory.
4)Please note that the trial version only allows you copy five files. I have numbers of music songs and videos, so I purchased an official version. Although the program charges me , I think it is deserved that price.

You will not have to restore the ipod, in fact you can take the music from your ipod and put it all on your new computer.
First you will want to download and install itunes onto the new computer. After the instal is complete open itunes and go to Edit. In edit click on Preferences; once that opens click on Devices; and make sure that (Disable automatic syncing for iphones and ipods) is selected. This will prevent itunes from wiping your ipod clean of music when it is connected.
Now click on your start button and open the control panel. Click on Folder Options and click on the VIEW tab. Look to make sure that SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS is selected. If it is not, select it.
After you've done that, connect your ipod to your new computer. After the ipod icon appears you should be looking at your summary page of the ipod. Make sure ENABLE DISC USE is selected and that the ipod is in MANUALLY MANAGE mode.
after that without ejecting your ipod close itunes. Create a new music folder on your desktop. Now open your start menu again and click on my computer. Here you will see your ipod. Double click on it to open it. Now you will want to drag the itunes music folder from your ipod into the new folder you created on your desktop. (this may take a while if you have allot of music)
After it is completed, open itunes again. If you music is not listed in the itunes library you will simply want to go to File in the top tool bar of itunes and select ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY and go to your newly created folder through the browse option. This will update you itunes library with all the music now on your pc in this folder. Hope this was helpful. CHEERS :) If any of it is confusing hella hit me up

SOURCE: Transfer music from ipod back to library

it is completely possible to use your ipod to transfer music to a new computer.

Now these steps may vary if you have Window's Vista and not Window's XP. However, I will post step by step instructions below each item just in case you are unsure on how to do any of it.
First, on the computer, (without anything else open) click on the start menu and open your control panel. {If you have Vista you will need to click on classic view in the left panel of the control panel when it opens} Then go to Folder Options and click on the View tab at the top of that window, now select Show Hidden Files and Folders. Once that's done go ahead and close out of all windows.
second, you will want to put the ipod into disc mode.

Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.

After doing this connect your ipod to your computer. If it auto pop's itunes, just wait for the ipod to show up in the devices area and then shut itunes.

Third, open your start menu again, and open My Computer. Once the My computer window is open double click on you ipod icon. Once your ipod opens you will see several folders. You will click and drag the itunes music folder to the new folder created on your desktop. This step may take a while if your ipod is fully loaded. Once complete your music will now be on your computer.

From here, all you will need to do is open itunes. If the music is not auto loaded into itunes, click on File in the top tool bar and open Add Folder To Library. Then browse to the new folder created on your desktop and select it. This will bring the newly added music on the computer into itunes and you will be ready to what ever else you wish to do

How do i transfer my ipod music to my mac ?

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

To transfer music from your iPod Nano, you need to first have iTunes installed on your Mac.

Then you need to have music in your iTunes library, whether you are importing the music from your favorite CDs into iTunes, or if you are purchasing music directly from the Apple iTunes Music store, it has to be in the iTunes library.

Once you have your desired music in your iTunes library, follow this link below, which will guide you into transferring music into your iPod.

Cannot download music videos to ipod nano classic

hi, buddy
First, you need to ensure ur video is in ipod-friendly format MPEG4(MP4), M4V... if not, you can use iTunes to convert them...

Next, use iTunes to sync them to ur iPod. If you wanna more convenient, you could download this iPod manager tool - Daniusoft iPod transfer :

1. Backup videos/songs from computer to iPod directly ;
2. Transfer iPod files to computer smoothly ;
3. Transfer iPod video/music to iTunes .

Music transfer

Do you have a extra ipod wire you can try?

If not you might want to pick one up and try that.

Make sure your Ipod isn't connected through a usb hub. If so try plugging it directly into the computer and see what happens.
