Disk Error read
This error means there is probably something wrong with the drive itself. I would reccomend having the hard drive replaced. Was the computer new or used?

Normally you need to convert your video files before transferring them to the player.
Have you got the softward disc for it? A converter should be on it. Otherwise a free converter can be downloaded, if you google for it. Small free programs like 'DoremiSoft Free AVI to MP4 Converter 1.0' and there are a number of others that could do the trick also. Good luck.

i had the same problem but i had a read of the manual and there should be avi converter with the mp4 player in the form of a mini disk you have to make sure it is at the right resolution i think mine is 320*240 and if it is not the right resolution it will just keep coming up with file error, just make sure the resolution on the avi converter  matches the resolution on the mp4 player

DISK ERROR WHEN I TRY TO USE MP3
Double check p. 17 of the manual for a firmware upgrade, in case this message is caused by a db corruption, but the error may also be caused if your player is in the "lock" or "hold" position.

the best thing to do is RE format the disc. i am currently having the same problem , witch i am tired of fixing them. if the item is from ebay : hong kong , i suggest you tell the buyer and complain. people will do anything for good feedback. saw formatting it will work. but you'll have the same problem in the future. either you copy all your music files to a folder. or buy one from Argos , woolworths etc etc...

It just won't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THIS MP4 PLAYER SOME MONTHS AGO FOR MY DAUGHTER. I DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE DONE TO THE THING BUT IT SAYS DISK ERROR. I M LOOKING FOR THE DISK THAT CAME WITH IT MAYBE WE HAVE TO RE INSTALL THE SOFT WARE. HOPE IT WORKS OR CALL UP WARRANTY DEPT.
