First off I usually check The horizontal output and the Low voltage regulators for shorts or open conditions.Followed by checking capacitors ,resistors and diodes in the power supply. Do you have a service manual for your set? That will give you the various test points and what the voltages should be to help nail your problem down. You'll need to be cautious around the capacitors as you can get shocked even with the power disconnected. If you dont have a manual you can probaly get one at this link. Hope this helps. You have a bad small signal module! Location should be in the rear left side. The board will require extensive work to pull out and reworked or replaced! This board will have three large heatsinks with convergence ICs and an audio ICs attached to them.Good Luck and thanks for asking!

I have a dlp 50 first a red light came on in the on and off switc

If this set is more than ten years old then I would recommend it's replacement. If it's not then a house call is your only choice due to the size and weight of your television. I can't find any data with Phillips about this set which usually means they no longer support it's repair. (They are only required to support it for 5 years after it's out of warranty.) The hard part is finding a repair technician that is competent to trouble shoot and repair this brand. Don't forget that all the components in your set are just as old. Failures happen all of a sudden with usually no symptom. The fact that you can turn it on with no result means an internal failure.

TV will not turn on

Good Morning Chris,
OK, first of all lets unplug the TV and wait 15 minutes for the High Voltage to discharge.
Remove the back and follow the power cord to the power supply. Somewhere around there you should find a fuse. (there may be more than one) get a bright light to look inside and try to find as many fuses as you can. Remove each fuse one at a time and check them with an ohm meter.
If you don't get a good solid reading on any of them replace the fuse or fuses with the exact same rating. Even if you get a reading and the display is jumping around and will not stablize, replace the fuse. Usually a good fuse taken out of the circuit will display a good steady reading on the meter.
I hope this solves your problem.
Have a great day!

Mitsubishi Projection Television wont turn on

Un plug the set first then remove the back, and depending on the model number you should have two or three fuses on the board on the right side where the power goes check them for continuity with an ohms meter. What is the model number of your set? Also does the led indicator light up?
