The model you have is complex except for the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. I may need to go through this in detail if you would like my help. First question did you check the defrost heater while inside the evaporator compartment? I will need an answer soon so you don't spending an arm and a leg to either replace the refrigerator or the major components that are affected if not checked soon.Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

- I want you to do is open the freezer and look at the rear back panel to see if there is a layer of frost or ice beginning to build up. If yes unplug the refrigerator and remove the panel and begin by defrosting with a hair dryer or placing a bucket of hot water inside, close door and wait until ice melts. If after the ice is gone look at defrost heater to see if burned out. Will be easy to see because the element is inside a set of glass tubes. If you need to replace the defrost heater I recommend you also replace the defrost thermostat. part numbers ClickHere=> WR51X10042 Defrost Heater and the WR50X10054 Defrost Thermostat If you see these parts are not needed let me know because we then will need to check the control board, evaporator and condenser fans. Artica and Profiles all fall in the same category from 22 cubic feet up There are a few other refrigerators that GE makes that uses the same basic mother board and thermostat controls. There are some that come with manual thermostats but all are subject to mother board failure due to something simple like a condenser fan going bad. If a fan stops and starts on these models it will take out the motherboard. If the fan is not replaced if that was the reason for the first board the the new mother board will also be damaged. Here is a site that will focus on the models with a test technical sheet and a link to the service manual. The manual does not mention the 26.5 cu. ft. but it's the same parts just bigger. Some mother boards are a little different due to the different features on the refrigerator. These models need a good surge protector on the outlet where its plugged in. A small surge in power gets the board also. Some people call them Muthaboards for that reason. Here is the page=> APPLIANCE PARTS and TECHNICAL SERVICES
