I bought a Sony BDV-E570 in US and it came locked for region 1. As I live in Brazil, I need to run region 4 dvds. Do you know how to unlock it? Thanks

Full procedure for a oneforall remote is as follows:

2. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
3. Press 0533

4. Hold the magic button until it flashes twice.
5. Press 994
6. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
7. Press 00189 (if your oneforall remote uses 4 digit or 3 digit codes, use less leading zeros)
8. Press 1 ( this sets it to key 1 - it flashes twice )

9. Hold the magic button until it flashes twice.
10. Press 994
11. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
12. Press 00255
13. Press 2 ( this sets it to key 2 - it flashes twice )

14. Hold the magic button until it flashes twice.
15. Press 994
16. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
17. Press 00095
18. Press 3 ( this sets it to key 3 - it flashes twice )

19. Hold the magic button until it flashes twice.
20. Press 994
21. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
22. Press 00221
23. Press 4 ( this sets it to key 4 - it flashes twice )

24. Hold the magic button until it flashes twice.
25. Press 994
26. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
27. Press 00079
28. Press 5 ( this sets it to key 5 - it flashes twice )

The remote is now programmed and ready to use, to make the BDV-E370 region free:

1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it.
2. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the oneforall remote. The 24p light will start flashing. (Centre light)
3. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote.
4. Hard reboot machine (remove power)to prevent the 24p light flashing indefinitely.
5. Next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback.

This worked for me, but obviously I accept no liability for anyone who tries it on their machine.

I think my remote has quit. Where can I find one?

Try this advice:

"Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved

How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control

This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!

Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.

Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!

Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.

(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)

Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.

New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

Step 5- Try the remote.

Special Note:

If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the unit.

If it works, Great!

If not, it's time to call 1-800-Remotes or use this website to order a new remote.

Find new or replacement remotes:

or eBay: search for "(model) remotes", check the 'include description

INSIGNIA TV Remote does not work

I have the same problem. I called Insignia and they suggested taking the batteries out, and pressing every button on the remote one by one.....apparently this works some of the time. It did not work for me so I just ended up paying 85 bucks for another remote from best buy parts.......THX

Hi,I've found this on another forum, and I'm considering buying a Z510 not sure what differnce there might be with Z510T... Check this out and if it works for u then I'll know I have the hack before I buy it, otherwise I'l go for another model... Hope it solves ur problems too V
I've tried in mine Z210T - should work as well in the Z510T and Z310T - and it works perfectly (originally region 4).

1. Disconnect your player from its power source for thirty seconds
2. Reconnect your player to its power source
3. Press the Power On button on your remote control
4. Select DVD and wait for the NO DISC on TV
5. Press the Enter button on your remote control
6. Press the 8 button on your remote control
7. Press the 4 button on your remote control
8. Press the 2 button on your remote control
9. Press the 6 button on your remote control
10. Press the 9 button on your remote control
11. Press the Enter button on your remote control
12. Your player should now place itself in Standby mode (Good-Bye appears in the display and the device turn off)
13. Turn on the HT and try your DVDs from other regions!

Remote Control

From GUEST: I found this solution in the manual and will perform this task again to see if I can get the tv will be re-recognized again. Give this a try, too.

Remote will not turn on or shut off the TV.
• You must program the converter box remote in order to control your TV power button.
• To program the remote control:
    1. Determine if the TV is a model that can be controlled by the remote control. See "Controllable TV brands" on page 17 in the manual.
    2. Turn on the TV.
    3. While you press and hold TV POWER on the remote control, press CH ^ or CH v one or more times until the TV turns off. Each time you press one of these buttons, the remote control sends a manufacturer code (between 1 and 45) to the TV.
