Re: leaking water

Inside of freezer, take back cover out and thaw the ice with hair dryer or hot water. don't use any sharp tools. When thawed make sure water drains through defrost drain.

How to unstop drain for defrost

Which model can I assist you with? Top mounts are different then side by sides. The drain system is with in the freezer section under the evaporator, I use steam, but if this is not available I would use hot water to clear the drain. *If you use water, this could overfill the drain pan so beware of leaking water. For better instructions, please be specific on your model numbers. Good Luck

Whirlpool gold refrigerator leaking under neath on the side

If its leaking all the time you could have a problem with the water supply line (if it has an icemaker)Or the solenoid valve (water valve) that opens to refill the icemaker after it drops (harvests) the ice.Or the plastic water lines that run from the valve up to the icemaker. You should pull the frig out from the wall and check the back for leaks. You could also Just shut off the water supply to the unit and see if it stops. These leeks cause a lot of damage when they go unnoticed for a long time.I would check it out asap.

Water is collecting in the bottom of the refrigerator below the drawers. Water was also in the lunch meat drawer.

Your freezer defrost coils are probably frozen. Or the drain tube is plugged. Remove the rear panel from the freezer and defrost the defrost coils if necessary. Make sure that the drain tube underneath the coils is not plugged with ice or other foreign matter. You may have to thaw out the tube. If you don't make sure that the tube is clear, excess condensate will continue to drain into the fridge. Good luck!

Water leaking from the bottom

Self-defrosting refrigerators dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle, usually via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates.

If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan.

How to unstop drain

If there's a drain, a shop vac will clear it. If no drain, you're getting too much condensation inside the fridge. Check the door fit, make sure no one is leaving the door open too long. If your freezer is overflowing into the fridge, a manual defrost may clear the problem. That takes a long time, have somewhere else for your food.
