Take off the noozle, take off the bottom plate and remove the brush roll and old belt. Check the brush roll while you have it off to make sure the end spin freely. Put the belt on the brus roll and re-install in the noozle, put on the bottom plate. Then turn the big knob on the front of the nozzle all the way, you can only turn it so that the belt catches and will stretch, it will stop when you are all of the way, then re-install the nozzle back onto the Vac, turn that knob back the other way and you are all done.

were you put the belt on see if any thing is rubbing against may have been the belt,replace the belt and clean out the bab and also the floor brush.

How do you change the belt on a kirby g4 vacum


I have shot an excellent video repair on how to replace the belt on Kirby Generation Vacuum Cleaners, including your Generation 4, G4. The video is below in an easy to follow, and understand video. Feel free to use the pause controls to pause the movie as you're fixing the belt on your Kirby.

How do I replace the drive belt on a kirby G4? Actually the belt is already replaced I just need to know how to reattach that front part back onto the main vacuum. HELP

your belt has probably been stretched to the point where it will not work so good.
