DS Lite not working.  1 year old.  Battery is fully charged and have tried switching batteries with another DS that works.  When turning on the power light comes on then flashes off with no power.  For a while we were able to hold the power button and it would switch on - only to turn itself off after playing for a while but now it won't power up at all.

There may be some kind of damage in the ds as i had the same problem it may have been shaken around or dropped or even faulty the best thing to do is send it back if you dont have the warranty then go to a gaming store most have a collection day where someone comes to pick up broken ds and takes them its free except tfor the repair. Its best if you dont fiddle around with it a it will become more damaged

Hello there,
Unfortunately, something may be shorting out at the hinges causing the DS to shut down automatically. It is probably a ribbon cable damage. Try contacting Nintendo to try to get it fixed.
I hope this helps! Thumbs up are always welcome.

How long should my battery last? I bought an nintendo DS lite and I forgot to ask?

Hello there, the Nintendo DS Lite has four levels of brightness. The battery will last 15-19 hours on the lowest settings, and 5-8 hours on the brightest. This can also vary depending on the type of game activity."
So the DS should last the whole time in even on the highest brightness settings, if fully charged. Nintendo states that it takes 3 hours to fully charge the DS.

hope this helped, also this site will also help you to get your ds battery to last for longer…

good luck

My ds lite won't charge.. the orange light appeared blinked

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

Nintendo DS Lite charges but won't power on

I suggest that you get it fixed. The DS may have been dropped, had something spilled on it, etc. Getting it fixed is cheaper, and right now, the less money spent, the better.

Ds lite

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
