Re: Does not play when cold

Sounds like a bad solder joint or 2 on one of the output ic'sas the car warms up it expands and makes contact when it is cold the joint is contracted and does not make a good contact point-redress the solder on the main circut board to fix this-if you can't do the soldering clenly you may e-mail me at

sounds like the connector between the circuitry and the display is bad -- losing contact when it is cold but as it warms and expands, it makes better contact.

I'd call that a manufacturing defect and seek a warranty repair/replacement of the unit.

Try disconnecting the power to the unit for a couple of minutes. If you don't wanna take it out, you could instead disconnect the car battery completely (disconnecting only the negative pole is enough) for a couple of minutes as well. But please take appropiate caution, if not familiar with electronics, have someone else do it for you ...

Volume decreases drasticly when playing fairly loud for 15-20 minutes

You're probably overdriving the amplifier, meaning the speakers are sucking up more power than the amplifier is capable of. When you turn it up loud it overheats and causes the system to go into a protect mode so it doesn't catch on fire (yes... it happens!). Make sure your system is capable of handling the power needs of your speakers. And don't burn your house down! I had a high-end Harmon-Kardon receiver burst into flames. It's a good thing I was standing next to it or my house would have been toast.

it's more likey the faceplate, and where it makes contacts with the unit. if you try applying pressure and moving the detachable faceplate on while attached and it turns on, there could be a cold solder/loose connection on the board.

Are you attaching it via usb on the deck or aux? Because if it is via usb the touch is probably not supported.

Sanyo Car stereo fm doesnt work

there is a broken solder joint on the board inside and the temperature effect is causing the minute flexation of the broken solder, acting as a bad switch.
