check out the default ip of your router, it may be under the unit itself or read for it in the manual. the ip should be something like 192.168.1.1. if for example the ip of your router is 192.168.1.1 you should set the ip address of your pc (the one you wish to connect to the router via cable) to anything between 192.168.1.2 up to 192.168.1.254, remember it should not be the same as the ip of your router. open your web browser and type the ip address of your router, it will ask you for a user name and password. once you entered the correct username and password you will then be able to configure it correctly. don't forget to read the router manual carefully, before you attempt to configure it.

Try pushing and holding the reset button behind the router. This resets everyting to factory defaults. You do not need to install the software for your router. I own one of these routers and I did not install the software. If your computer is a desktop, make sure your wireless card is linksys and go to 192.168.1.1
This is the linksys router configuration page.
Make your wireless router password if you want. Chose the things you want or don't want.
Check the SSID of the router.
Change it to something you can remember.
Go on your iphone or ipod touch and search for wireless networks. click on the name of of your router, which is your SSID.
Type your password of the router you made if you made one.
If these steps don't work, go to www.linksys.com to find support.
