Vista hangs during startup. Ran chkdsk successfully. Ran logging during startup and it shows many repeated drivers "not loaded" messages. Anything to do except reformat and reinstall? (Dell 1525 notebook). Thanks.

Have you try to "Point restore" your computer ?? If it was working before you can try to "system restore" your computer, there you choose a dato it was working and let it restore.
Maybe it is a program that having destroyed everything.
