Re: Keeps looping into safemode

When restarting, try pushing F12 until the boot menu comes up and then choose "Last Known Good Configuration" or the Windows XP (or other OS) non-safe mode option.

Re: Keeps looping into safemode

If these good solutions do not work. You could try a Program disk called System Suite and as far back as System Suite 5 should work with Windows XP. It will allow you access to System Restore and the restore data base of the said program if installed and activated. It works in a non-windows environment or DOS. Just put the CD in Reboot if not you will have to go to the Bios and select the CD as the Boot Drive.

Windows will not load stuck on welcom screen any help with this? Please and thank you

Hi Welcome to FixYa!
If you are having this kind of problem, follow the steps below:
1)Turn off the computer completely.
2)Unplug the charger from the laptop and remove the battery.
3)Press and hold down the power button for 5-10secs. (this will drain the remaining static charges inside the computer)
4)put in back the battery and plug the charger back.
5)Try now to turn on the computer and see if you will be able to pass the Windows Welcome screen.
6)If still no go, turn off the computer again.
7)Try to boot into safemode. (Turn on computer and once you press the power button, keep on tapping on F8.. You should see a screen that has Windows Advanced Boot Options. It has different options like safemode, safemode with networking, etc.)
8)Using the arrow keys, select Safemode. You should be able to login into Windows in Safemode. You might notice that the resolution is different. Don't panic, that's normal.
9)Once you are in safemode, access the System Configuration Utility tool. Open the link to know how to access it.
10)Once you have accessed msconfig, click on the startup tab>then click on Disable all>click on apply.
11)Click on the Services tab>put a check on the box that says, Hide Microsoft services>Click disable all>click on apply and OK.
12)it will now prompt you with a restart. Restart the computer. and it will now boot back to normal mode.
13)You should be able now to access Windows. If it is successful, there are just some startup items or services that are having conflicts while Windows is trying to load up.
If you are not able to access safemode either, pretty much you have a bad hard drive or Windows could be corrupted. Try first reinstalling Windows on you computer.
Hope this could be a big help.

Computer keeps restarting

You probably have virus on your notebook. Do you have virus protection installed? If yes, go to safemode by turn off and turn it back on, keep pressing F8 and choose safemode, once you are in safemode, run a full scan to see if it finds any and remove, we can go from there. Let me know.

Frozen screen

it may be worth trying this

power up and at the same time keep pressing the F5/F8 key until it takes you into
a black repair option screen
then i would try to use the last good known configuration option

if that dont work then do the same but try the safe mode and when on the desktop
go to device manager scroll down to find the display and uninstall it
then restart and hopefully all should be well

good luck

My laptop has power but wont boot...please help

Try to boot you computer to safemode, turn off computer then turn it back on then keep on tapping F8, then choose safemode, if youre able to boot to safemode, do system restore going back to the time that its properly working, click start > all programs > accesories> system tools > system restore then pick a date when you think that its properly working..

If its not able to boot to safemode, you will need to reinstall the operating system using the recovery disc that came with the computer.

Hope this will help... Please rate...

Rebooting loop on advent laptop

See if it will run in safemode tap F8 as it boots - then choose "safemode" - see if that works If it does:-
  1. Try doing a system restore to before the problem started start> programs> accessories> system tools> system restore > choose a date before the problem started
  2. If that does not work, then try doing a clean boot - details here Now if it works when booted normally - you will need to go back into the configuration tool and find out which program is causing the issue - reply here if that's the case, and I can work you through the detail

My lenovo t60 screen goes black 15 seconds after

Hi, try to boot into safemode, turn your system on then keep on tapping F8 to get the windows advance Menu screen, select safemode.

In the safemode windows go to Control panel and check your power options, you will see what time frame your system has for the LCD when turning off.

If this does not fix the issue, try booting into safemode with networking for you to be able to go online in safemode try updating your BIOS from your Manufacturers Website, Updating your bios may fix the issue.

well you seem to have a program that restarts your computer, so run msconfig, and disable any program that might seem suspicious, most of the programs dont really affect anything if disabled, or can b reached by start menu. so you can try to disable any suspicious services or programs from msconfig and see if it works. hope it helps. goodluck.
