The problem may be the selector switch. Your best bet is some testing. I would recommend an ohmmeter and a voltmeter. Check to see that the switch is putting out a signal and that the motor is getting power as well.

I have a GE WBSE2090A0WW top load washer, 9 yrs old. For months now, when in the rinse/spinning mode, it is extremely loud and seems off balance even though it is not. Yesterday, it actually stopped agitating and spinning, just drains. It also is leaking somewhere. Thanks, Brittany brittanylhayes@yahoo.com

My washer is leaking, not a lot but enough to get the floor wet under it. I have taken the bottom cover off and found a lot of soap buildup on the inside of the cover where it has been leaking. The pump and the tub all are clean with no sign of any leaking. The majority of the buildup is under what I think is an overflow tube. What is causing the overflow and how do I stop it?
