My MP830 leaves white horizontal bands when printing black & white documents. Color printing seems fine. Pattern 'F' is missing on the print alignment page.

- I tried print head cleaning multiple times, including 'deep cleaning.' Also tried both auto and manual alignment. Which of the black cartridges is used for the 'F' pattern? It appears that something is clogged or the print head is not getting a signal.

- My Canon MP830 printer has distinct white horizontal bands when printing black and white documents. Color is fine. Pattern 'F' in the print alignment printout is completely blank; Patter n 'A' is and the colors are okay. I have tried print head cleaning repeatedly (including deep). Any ideas?
You need to continually clean and deep clean and realign the black until the results are acceptable. Try manual alignment if the auto does not work. Also clean around the exit hole of the black ink cartidge with a cotton bud and isoproyl alcohol.

- To ensure that nothing is clogged in the Black ink line you can purchase and run a cleaning cartridge through the system. These are freely available from most ink suppliers. We use them on CISS and high volume print machines very successfully. If the print quality is still not satisfactory then your only resolution is to replace the Print Head.

text is not consistently dark, first two lines are, then this alternates with two lines lighter, two lines darker. I have cleaned the print heads and the test printing (not text) shows up fine, and no nozzle problems
