Cannot get the remote to work never tried it before Philips WDM TV Tuner

I have had this laptop for some time but I have just now tried to get the remote to work it is a Philips WDM TV Tuner using it with flytv platinum 33 mini. Perhaps it's not the tuner I don't know too much about this the remote isn't working and i want it to work i am using it with a next generation laptop and Intervideo WinDVD am I missing a part like a usb connector that the laptop manufacturer did not include?
Thanks ,Peg

The remote probably won't work since it has no way to communicate with the laptop. I am guessing that the usb connector that you are missing enables the laptop to receive signals from the remote.

I have the same problem. As I see, here is dead sub PCB with microcontroller on board. Small PCB with 26 pins, mounted verticaly on main, big power supply board. It is not available as a spare part. You must buy complete power supply board LJ44-001444A, as I have done.

My computer comes on and goes off . at times it does not even come on and the fans are not turning

the batteries might be making partial contact, are dead and so cannot power the laptop.
the best thing to do is to take out the battery and with a soft brush and no solvent(liquid) dust the panel part and dust the panel part where it comes in contact with the laptop too, if this doesn't work, try connecting the charger and see if it works, if it does, you need to replace the batteries. but it does not, it is advised that you send it for repairs.
hope this helped you? please rate

I need an owners manual

Your best bet is to search the Philips website.

I note that the American website contains more products listed than does the Australian site.

I have located a 300W Power Inverter however, it is a US2-GGE819.

If it is an older stocked item, then you would need to use the Contact section of the website to contact Philips to obtain a copy of the manual.

TO SEARCH the Philips SITE do the following:

1. Copy and Paste the following link to navigate directly to the US site:

2. Type the product description ie., power invert. Press <enter>
3. Read through the list of products to locate yours.

I hope this helps. Regards,

My philips televison doesnt turn on Previously I would just unplug it and plug it back on and would turn on I believe that its the on/off switch that isnt working properly. The TV works it just cant be...

You should at least try turning it on/off using a remote if you can't turn it on/off on the TV keyboard. Pulling the the plug on it and turning it on by plugging into the wall isn't a good thing to do, you will eventually burn something out in your power supply or elsewhere due to the harsh transient currents you are subjecting your electronic components to. Your power supply may have a relay in it that delays activationg some components until others are energized and you are bypassing all that with your method.
