have embarq DSL internet with a embarq 660 series modem/router and I cannot get the belkin wireless router to work. it used to but has been unhooked and not used for 6 months or more. Trying to get it hooked back up for networking with a Dell inspiron laptop and a WII
I have just recently got embarq internet, my desktop works great but I want to surf with my laptop and I can not get my belkin wireless router to work with the embarq modem. I have tried to hook up only the router to change the ip addy however I can not even get online that way, with just the router hooked up. So that does not work, I can get to the modem's home page the way described but I did not want to change the ip address of it. So waht is an alternative to make my wireless router work or am I stuck purchasing the 150.00 dollar modem router that embarq is trying to get me to purchase.

Had the same problem. The modem and belkin router share the same ip address. You need to change the router ip address to 192.168.1.2. This will allow them both to work.

Roomate just bought a laptop (Windows Vista) with a Belkin G router, and wanted internet connection. I also have Embarq 660 series modem on a desktop (Windows XP). I have tried both "sets" of instructions that came with the Belkin product, and the laptop ends up with the only internet access.
