Hi, the compressor may not be working for several reasons. If you are not mechanically inclined, it will be hard to walk you through to much, but, we will try!! When you're unit is plugged in and you turn the thermostat down, is the little fan at the back on? This is the condenser fan motor. If its on and running, that's great. If not, then this can cause the head pressure to rise and cause the compressor to shut off on overload. This type of compressor does not have an internal overload but a snap switch relay wired through the common wire which opens if it senses to much heat. If this occurs, it will trip and stop compressor. After it cools down, it will reset and start again.Make sure the back of the coil is free from lint build up.Feel the compressor to see the temp of it,don't burn yourself. If you feel you want to check it more, you can unplug it and pull the cover to view the terminals to see if maybe one has burned off due to being loose. This you can repair.I would recommend calling out a service tech as we have all of the tools required to check these things.I would plug it in, turn down the temp and feel the compressor in about 15min to see if it is hot. If so, I am sure it will need replaced. Depending on the age, you may consider getting a new one after getting a estimate.I would have to be on site to properly diagnose this.If that fan isn't running, replace it, that's your problem. Good Luck,Sincerely, Shastalaker7
Have you tried to check if there is electrical supply from your outlet? if there is, check with the check the electrical cable, to the overload protector, up t the thermostat.

LG model LRTB2023W (top freezer/no icemaker installed) 7 years old. Has been forming ice on bottom of freezer. Manual defrost today and note nothing coming down to evaporator pan. Thinking drain for defrost is plugged up but have no idea where drain located or how to get to it. Do you have a service manual or information on how to get to the drain in top freezer model. Assume if can get to drain then can see if will flush.
