My GE 21518 Fusion Gateway just quit working. It cannot be ''found'' by any cell phone I've tried. I unplugged it and tried to start over to no avail. What can I do to fix it?

I have only have the base unit so no extended microphone and even with the microphone sensitivity at its max, others complain that they need me to speak louder. i am not more that 2feet from the phone and almost have to be 6" away before they can hear me loud enough. I went back to my old analog $15 phone with speakerphone and they say that it much better and they can hear me. what can i do? thanks
