I bought this product, plugged it in, followed the "set-up" prompts (5 hours), closed the computer down and unplugged the WD external hard drive. The next time I tried to get on my computer (with the external hard drive unplugged) it says there is an error with loading, send or don't send to microsoft, and said something about a problem with the IP address- unable to verify. No previous problems with the computer. What should I do? Thanks
When unplugging or removing external storage devices there is usually an icon in the lower right bar that is for "Safely Removing" devices.
Before shutting down WITH THE DEVICE INSTALLED you should click on this and remove the device IF you intend to start the machine without having it connected.
At this point, try to power down and reconnect and restart to get back to where you were.

The files will not transfer from Real Player SP to the external drive, although the external drive is only 23% used. How do I fix this? A Window comes up and says, "[Number of files] cannot be moved." They always could previously.

My old computer died, but fortunately I had "My Book Essential 160G" plugged in. Now with my new computer with the "My Book.." plugged in it is not copying my work. Did I ever have a disc for it, I don't remember. Is there one for it that makes it copy? If not, what do I do? Is so, where can I get another? thanks from a 76 year old dumby.
