remote control will not turn on/off fan or light. Has good battery. Where is the transmitter located on the ceiling fan?

The transmitter is the remote. The receiver is located inside the fan mounting bracket next to the ceiling. If you replace it make sure to set the dip settings on the new receiver exactly as they are on the old one. Wire the new receiver exactly as the old one is wired if it was working before.
