Problem for Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
I closed my business last month and my desk top
I closed my business last month and my desk top dell dimension was networked with microsoft xp pro and i want to take the hard drive from that somputer and install it in my home computer which is a stand alone non networked dell dimension 4600 and it will not boot up what should i do

how does it go i nthe boot process ? where does it stop? Did you take the HDD also from a 4600 ?

HI,
When you remove the harddrive from a computer and plug it into a different machine though of the same model.It would not boot, because the operating system product key is unique to the machine. If you want to use this particular hdd in your home system, make it a secondary harddrive or reload windows on the harddrive again. But doing so , you would remove everything from the harddrive.
