Not making froth

After only 1 week using approx 4 times a day, my Aeroccino has stopped frothing milk. Although the rotor still revolves it appears to be slower.

the problem began about a week or two after I purchased the machine..it just stopped frothing. I find that using fresh organic half and half minimizes the problem, but I believe this product just does not last! it is a too-good-to-be-true product

After one week of great froth it stopped working. Is it really that bad? I will leave it upside down to see if works tomorrow.

I have the same problem. Worked perfectly and stopped making froth after a couple of months. Am now trying the invert trick to see whether that helps. Bit strange though the product should work also when left on the base.

We recently purchased Nespresso Aeroccino (30.12.08). Frothed milk PERFECTLY for ten days ( approx. 2 cups per day) but now just heats milk NO FROTH.

  • shoeys Mar 09, 2009

My aeroccino (purchased 23/12/08 at Castle Hill Sydney) worked reliably for about 2 weeks making 1-2 cups per day. From then till now 10/3/09 it has been intermittent - only makes a usable froth in about 1 in 7-10 tries. Most times it just heats the milk. I have compared side by side with the same milk a friends unit, an 18 month old aeroccino with LOTS of hours use, and theirs works fine every time. My frother spring spins well and seems very magnetised, but for some reason it just doesn't work properly.

Who do I contact for a replacement? the shop I bought it from or the distributor? Anyone got a contact?

    Cheers
    Jeff

Not frothing is intermittent and seems to relate to the milk I purchase. Do some brands not froth? I always use full fat milk

Had the same problem, but called Nespresso. Their tech suggested the following: 1) always leave off the base - will stay on even if button not pressed 2) invert the Aerocinno for 24-48 hours to "reset" the thermostat in the device. I began leaving the base plugged in, but immediately after using and cleaning (don't get ANY water in the bottom of the machine!), I invert the Aeroccino and leave it that way. My machine began making great froth with any tyoe of milk, and continues to do so a month later -

Sounded crazy to me initially, but it works.....Never returned the device, and no need to do so now - Good luck!

Nespresso states that leaving the Aeroccino on its base while it is plugged-in to the wall, will cause it to short-circuit (because there is no off-switch on the base, it is continually feeding full power to the frother), and the result is that it makes only warm milk. Replacement is the only solution...I hope you are still under warranty.

I had to replace the thermal fuse, but mine works now. The thermostat is on a spring, so I don't understand how inverting it will help. I can certainly see how leaving it off the base is important. Just know that power is flowing to the base, so if you have kids, keep away. If they start shoving metal inside, it would be similar to an outlet.

My Aerocinno had a broken fuse that shuts of at 108 oC. I replaced it with a fuse 110 oC 4-5 Amp. Now the frothing shuts of later and the milk is warmer and more consistent.

Hey guys. I think that the thermostat (the one mounted on a spring) in mine's broken, because the result is pretty much the same with the thermostat connected to or disconnected from the board (red flashing light after 1.5 seconds). The aeroccino works great in cold mode.
Can you tell me where to get a replacement? May I find a replacement at Amazon (I live in Spain)?
Also, it could be the thermal fuse, but I don't even know what that looks like or where it is located on the board. Just in case, Could you tell me how to identify it and where to find a replacement?
    Thanks in advance.

Silly man, try skim milk. The lower the fat content, the frothier it gets.

My Nespresso Aeroccino often would not heat or froth multiple times after one use. I called Nespresso, they have excellent customer service, and was told to rise the inside (careful not to get the outside button or electric elements wet) of the Aeroccino with cold water a few times and to retry. Works like a charm!
The customer service is the best I have encountered in a long while, give them a call, it will make your day they are so pleasant and helpful!

My nespresso machine won't froth the milk

Brand of milk definitely matters... Here in Canada I used Sealtest 1% when I first used it and the froth was thick light and luxurious. Then one week picked up Neilsen 1% and found it produced absolutely ZERO froth. Back to Sealtest...back to froth. Milk brand matters....but don't know why.

The frother doesn't froth. I start with cold milk fill it to the hot froth line and push. The red circle lights up and whirls around, but when it stops there is no froth

I have tried tilting mine slightly, just a 20c peice under one edge of the base put enough of a lean on it to make the milk froth. Shouldn't have to do this, I know. I am having similar issues becasue I don't think I should have to alter the unit. Mine is 2 weeks old.

Aeroccino deosn't make froth

Our aeroccino worked fine for 2 years and suddenly it didn't made foam anymore. We tried the "inverting trick" without much success. We contacted Nespresso and they suggested switching from regular fresh milk (we used 2%) to UHT milk (harder to find in US) and to use it cold and freshly opened. So we tried that and it works.
Hope this solution works for you too

Aeroccino Overflows

As a Nespresso demonstrator I've had this question many times- use the black plastic wand for light foam- can use to max line. Using the wire whisk wand for heavy, cappacino foam and fill only to bottom line. This wand uses more aeration to achieve foam density- causing more pressure and your leaks. The wand stored inside the lid doesn't have anything to do with function of the aerrocino.

Nepresso aeroccino doesn't spin fast enough to froth the milk

The company will tell you to turn upside down for 24 hours to reset. I did this but it did not work. Try turning upside for aeroccino upside down for 24 hr. You do not need to do this to the base. They told me if this does not work, I need to buy a new one. I hope you have better luck. I am on my third one. you may be covered under warranty- call Nepresso soon..they cover them for about 1 year. Good luck

Aeroccino does not heat

Try descaling, if the element is covered with scale it wont produce enough heat and pressure.

The machine is Krups, and therefore should be covered with one year warranty. Call the number listed on the user manual, or find contact from websites below:
