the fridge has lg amounts of water collecting in the bottom of the main compartment. Is this a defrost problem,blocked line or?

Good day,
With limited information, if one, you are talking about the fresh food side, and two, the machine has water in the door, it may well be the water reservoir tank, behind the crispers or it's fittings are leaking.

As a temporary test, at the rear of the machine is the dual water valve that feeds the ice maker, and the water in the door.
There are 2 plastic lines coming out of the water valve. Unscrew the larger one ( have plenty of towels around to collect any backfeed). Leave disconnected for now as long as the valve does not leak water.
As well, unplug the two wire plug that feeds that side of the valve. You'll still get ice, but no water in the door.
Test for results.
