Yesterday while on my laptop the screen had grainy white streaks appear on the screen. It shut on soon after I tried to turn it back on about half an hour later. Today it is still just white and won't display anything. It still boots up normal I just can't see anything the start up music still plays. I just don't know what to do.

ur right the chime did it the screen ddnt crack but the piments in side are all jumbled ... the same happened when a relative got in a car accident... replacing will b needed tho
I'm sorry to say that you will have to replace the screen soon. That vertical black and white lines that appear is the early warning signs that your screen will soon go blurry, or have a partial screen, or have it just stop working. This happens from the many times the screen was lifted open and closed and the ribbon cables just need to be replaced. And since the ribbon cables can't be simply unplugged and then replaced, you will just need to get a new replacement screen.
