Error code 2000 0146

This is the error code for a failed or failing Hard Disk Drive.
Try to boot from a recovery disk and run the Drive Self Test from the utilities known as 32 bit diagnostics.
Good luck

I just boght a verbatim usb 3.0 2t usb hard drive, I turn it on and when I plug it in windows crashes every time. I have usb2 and haven`t had problems with my system till now, I am also running vista with...

This is late response.....maybe it can help someone else....I had the same problem with Verbatim SuperSpeed 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive - plugged into Fujitsu Lifebook notebook running Vista SP1 and got the blue screen. Solution: upgraded to Vista SP2 which solved the problem (also Fujitsu had me update the chipset on my laptop, but I don't think this made a difference). Hope this saves someone else time!

External hard drive doesn't respond

Shut your computer down. Disconnect you external hardrive. Power up your computer again. Power up the Verbatim and then connect to a USB port. You should hear a very quiet 'ping'.

Go to My Computer, and the Verbatim should be showing as one of your drives (probably Drive D). You should be able to open it from there.

Make sure that you have a Desk Top Icon for opening the hardrive, it makes it so much easier. Hope this helps

No LED light

It Should be Plug n Play.... Try disconnecting, Reboot your PC..

Hopefully you are using XP or Newer Operating System.....
Install any software that was included if that doesn't work...

Or you can download the drivers (use the model of the usb flash drive and find software/drivers for it for your specific operating system (windows version)... also be aware that if you are runnning a 32 bit Windows (x86)...... You can't use 64 bit Drivers/software....BUT............ a 64 bit Windows can use either or both.....
