Annoying sound from the DVD player that won't stop.
When television is powered on there is an extremely loud sound coming from the built-in DVD player. It won't take a DVD and the sound won't stop. Is there any way to get this to stop?
This was not a useful response. I'm aware that it does a self test initially. We removed the DVD player and it stopped! This was not a useful response. I'm aware that it does a self test initially. We removed the DVD player and it stopped!

does not sound correct. Perhaps the laser is hitting the DVD, or a gear is dirty. Anyway, if you keep playing with a strange noise in the player, it won't take long before it stops complete, or till you destroyed all your DVD's When you don't see scratches on the silver side of the DVD's, you should check (or let a technician check) what can be wrong with the player.
I too have Sharp microwave that constantly beeps at approximately one minute intervals if the food you have been heating isn't removed. It is loud, persistent and extremely annoying. I've opened the machine to try and find the loud speaker but cannot find it (it could be built in to the circuitry?). Any help on this would be appreciated. It's a very unfortunate design flaw on what is otherwise a very good and easy to use microwave.
Check your power supply board for some bad caps (capacitors) on the board. They will look
bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain). A bad cap can sometimes produce a harmonic, causing issue's with the sound. Also look at the signal board (where all the inputs are), for bad caps. I have come across this on a lcd tv!! Good luck, hope this is helpful!
