Whirlpool GU3200XTSS Soap Dispenser Problem

I have had a whirlpool GU3200XTSS for about 2 years. For a while there was some control panel problems that wouldn't allow me to run cycles. After some service calls, that issue is now resolved, but when I run loads, the soap dispenser will not open. After the cycle is complete I have to open the soap dispenser and obviously the soap is not dissolved/used in the cycle.

Any ideas?

I have already tried running a load without any soap (because I use gel packs so I was concerned that maybe it was sticking to the cover and keeping it closed).

I have also made sure that nothing is obstructing the soap dish. I will try running a load without any dishes to see what could be wrong.
