I have a Fellowes DS1, and have used it very lightly for a couple months. Today I find that it only runs in reverse.
The Fwd. switch simply clicks sort of quietly.
What am I going to do with a shredder that only works in reverse?
I went to the the site, and it had no difinitive solution.
I have a AS602MX Aurora, with the mesh basket. It is a cross cutter. One day, I put newsprint in it and boom! It no longer worked in forward gear. I called Aurora and they told me it was kaput. I refuse to believe that. They told me I could try vegetable oil and running a thick piece of paper through it to clear it, but alas, it still only works in reverse. Can anyone help me?
We have a model DS-1 and are experiencing the same problem (it only runs in reverse). We've checked to make sure all visible paper has been removed, however, are still having problems.
The Royal 1280mx has 2 relay switches, used to reverse the direction of the DC motor. One of the relays is fused/stuck in the activated (reverse) position. There are 3 relay switches on the circuit board; the direction reversal relays are located next to each other, near the motor connector. Replacing the relays should fix the problem. You can also try removing the relays from the circuit board and smack them on a table in an effort to free the stuck relay.
