Trouble with USB Flash at Picture Kiosk

I have not used a picture Kiosk before. Not hard to use but the problem lies here. For work I had to develop pictures for myself and a coworker. We put the pictures on my "Sandisk Cruiser micro 4gb" flash drive. We use a mac. There were over 400 pictures to develop. Time deadline the whole deal. I went to Kinko's, the machine wouldn't read my usb flash. However the person before me had a picture on a disc and that didn't work for him either so I proceeded to Target cuz the woman said that it didn't work for a couple others ahead of us. However I believe Kinko's machine can't read mac usb flash pictures.

At Target, I had to use a Kiosk as well. The machine I went to was working fine until......I viewed my pictures. They were 1900 photo's that I had taken for various other jobs. I ejected my flash, went down to my car and used my Mac Powerbook to take everything off my Flash except my one folder with our pictures. However I realized what I was deleting as far as photo's didn't even show up when I was in target--it was a total mishmash of pictures from months. I went back up to the store, and again it only read all of the same 1900 photo's from other projects and nothing else. I was so frustrated. I then was told to burn discs. my computer burner was giving me problems and being the large amt of photo's i had to burn multiple discs and well, it didn't finish besides the guy at target that said he wouldn't get all my photo's done by close and it was not much after 7p.

I went to Rite aid after getting screamed at more than once on the phone from one of my bosses, they couldn't read my Flash cuz they didn't have a usb slot. I went to a 1 hour photo and the only thing that showed up was the original pictures in the folder that that I wanted to print. There was no old 1900+ picutures on it. The gentleman at the one hour tried to figure out the mystery by putting my usb flash into 2 pc's and one new mac and his machine and all that showed up were what I wanted in the first place. They got done but it was harrowing to say the least and think that this problem may have screwed me for other calls from this crew, cuz I am freelance and work is an on call basis. Everything was a .jpg
I will only go to one hour stores now but if I cannot get to one and the only option i have is target or kinko's i don't know what to do....
How do i get the other 1900+ pics off my usb flash so I can have a clean slate and just print what I want? How do I Reformat the Sandisk 4GB micro Cruzer?
I don't want to buy a gazillion flashs' and well, my burner is on the fritz so that is a whole other can of worms so this is my only viable option.
I am sure reset it? but where did thos pictures come from they didn't show up when I put it into my computer.
apologies this is so much to read but It was one problem after another.

I don't see a .Trash folder on my flash drive. When I was at the 1 Hour photo place he tried it on a PC and nothing but what needs to be there as far as what the usb flash comes with and the folder of the pictures I wanted printed. We were at a complete confused state.
I never wanted those old 1900 photo's at all ( you mentioned getting them back)....I don't want them at all....I wanted 400+ pics my co worker and I shot yesterday and couldn't find them on the kiosk at all. it is as if the pics i wanted didn't exist.

I went and deleted my trash on my computer with my flash if that is also what i needed to do.
I need to read up on flash drives and all this because FAT32 is something I read briefly this morning but had not heard of it until then. I honestly have a couple of flash drives and just use them to hold information and have not had a problem before. I am more knowlegdable than a first timer on the computer but in no way a total wiz when it gets technical. I completely appreciate your details.
I will try a friends PC and look for the .Trash folder and then format it so I can go between PC and my Mac without issues.

The issues you've experienced may have several folds. Firstly, your Mac actually creates a ".Trash" folder on your flash drive and dumps your "deleted" pictures into that folder. After that, you can't find your pictures from your Mac anymore unless you go through your trash can. On the PC end, the .Trash folder may not be hidden, depending on the PC's view settings, so you may be able to see them. Secondly, you seem to have tried to delete some pictures and that may have put the files in limbo if you pulled the drive out of the socket too soon. These files are treated differently depending on the computer's operating system version and configuration. Lastly, a problem lies in that the Sandisk Cruzer with U3 Smart has really poor software that it conflicts with other software installed on the PC. Sandisk's current solution is for you to uninstall those software and wait for the firmware updates.

As for getting your 1900 pictures back, check your trash in the Mac with the drive attached. If nothing turns up, then go to a XP PC that has view hidden folders/files option enabled. You should be able to locate the pictures then. If not, ask around for file recovery utilities for PC and try those. But don't copy new data on the flash drive or you may overwrite the old pictures. Finally, to wipe everything clean... you should format the device from a PC if you intend to use it between Macs and PCs. If you are going to format the device in PC, just right click on the drive and select "Format." Remember to choose FAT32 as the partition table type for interoperability.

Half of the picture is black on every picture.

If the affected photos were taken using a flash then you simply had the shutter speed set too high. The fastest shutter speed you may use when using flash is 1/90th of a second; with anything faster the second shutter curtain starts to travel across the film plane before the first one has fully crossed so only part of the negative is exposed.

If they were taken without flash then your camera has a faulty shutter assembly which must be replaced. It's not a DIY job, it's not cheap, and on a consumer grade 35mm SLR like any of the Rebel/EOS triple digit models it's usually not cost effective. Especially when there are millions of them lying unused and regularly available for next to nothing on auction websites and for absolutely nothing on FreeCycle/Freegle.

You need to contact a trained employee or call Kodak Service. There should be a sticker on the equipment with Kodak's phone number and K number.

Having trouble with my camer shooting slow between pictures

You might have a USB virus or spyware infection in the memory card. I suggest you have Kodak develop the pictures then wipe the memory card clean. And the pictures might be dark because of the camera settings and or the development quality. Try resetting the camera. Hope this works.

Does anyone know about Kodak picture kiosks

The 1400 in not compatable with the kiosk software. You need a 805 printer, or a 8110, or even a model 8800. Only those will work. Check here:
