It's likely that the key is simply broken and usually you need to replace the whole keyboard as it's hard to find just one or two keys for replacement. If it's under warranty, it would of course be better for you to just send it in for repair. The issue is almost definitely not a software issue.

Computer wont turn on their is a lock with a letter (A) blinkiing

Hi,

I use the same machine ... that light is for CAPs Lock which is on when it blinks.

I would suggest getting into the boot selection screen, by "tapping" del or F8 key while booting up & try getting into safe mode with networking & restoring teh machine to an earlier date.

Thanks

Try to remove the adapter to the computer. Uninstall and reinstall the driver before installing the adapter to the computer.

Note. if you got the same problem as before download the latest driver of the adapter then try to reinstall the driver again.

Messanger

Go to the start button for Windows Vista.

Open up Control Panel. Click on Back Up and Restore Your Computer.

Click on Restore Files.

It will give you a set date to restore your system to. This will uninstall any programs that you installed after that date. You can change the date if you want, but it generally gives you a date that was just before the last program you installed.

If your Messenger was installed before that date, then choose an earlier date.

Start the Restore and DON'T touch your computer until it is finished.

Good luck,

Stretch

Hey

You should restore your computer to a date when everything was working fine.

To do the same Click start>All Programs>Accessories>system Tools>System Restore

Select restore my computer to an earlier date> Click Next

Select a date when it was working fine and restore it.

Note: All software changes made after the selected date will be undone as well. For Ex. If you installed a new software or game,,,

I am sure this will work for you.

Please rate the solution.

All the best

Compaq Presario C700 keyboard malfunction

What's your Operating System.
If you haven't tried it shutdown the computer then restart it.

I would restore the system to an earlier state.
In Windows XP you would go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore
Follow the Directions and pick a restore date before your problem occured.

This should work.

Since you say that your mom's user works fine with the original keyboard, you can create a new user copy your files to that user and get rid of the old one.

You can try to restore your system to an earlier point, maybe you changed somenthing into your settings accidentally or a new software installation moved something.
CLICK ON START
ALL PROGRAMS
ACCESSORIES
SYSTEM TOOLS
SYSTEM RESTORE
choose restore my computer to an earlier time
NEXT
choose the closest system checkpoint since it worked fine click next
your system will be restared.
If it does not work you can try to an earlier point.
