At first my 360 gave the 0102 code, but now I get the 0020.What do I do,which code do I believe??My warranty is up and I am unsure as if it’s worth paying MS 140.00 to fix it.Especially since it’s an error on bad manufacturing, mine was manufactured 11/27/05.Anyway I need some advice on what to do.

    Thanks

Many people have. You need to replace the xclamp and make sure there's extra pressure (less than half a turn) on the front right corner of the GPU. You can read more about xclamp replacement here.

You should try replacing the network interface card, as it could be that or some fuse that got burnt. You can see a picture of where the interface card is here.

I forgot to mention, if you see that the solder has come loose on the internet connection socket, it's very likely it's that as the error code you got is one that means the problem's with the NIC.

My Xbox freezes in the midle of the game. no RRoD no nothing simply freezes from 5 to 15 minutes after starting the game. (Demos downloded from Xbox live work fine exept for Just cause 2)

the freezing can be many things most likely its a starter symptom of the rrod error code 0020 its when the gpu separates from the board or something that impacts visual effects on the screen cold solder or something else there are two things to look for the 360 gets hot it shuts down to prevent damage two red lights only shows up if the cpu overheats freezing is the same as the two red lights the sytem is faulty wait for a bit and it will red ring and you will have to self fix it or send it in there are ways to prevent this you take it appart and heat up the chips and replace thermal paste on gpu but that requires xclamp moding its all up to you if you want to mod send me a message email is cog19684@yahoo.com i can tell you what you need piece by piece and what to do please rate

Hello Sir

1) Remove your hard drive and/or memory units.
2) Run "Initial Setup" under the system blade.
3) Decline inserting HDD or memory unit when prompted.
4) Sync your controller and pop in a game.

Error Code 0020

First, my xbox would have one red light and E 74. Then when I opened it up and booted it I got three red lights and 0020. I took out the motherboard, replaced the heatsink compound and did the x-clamp fix, but I couldn't get nylon washers in the right size so i just used no washers at all. Varying the tightness of various x-clamp bolts gave me 0020, 0003, 0002, 0001, or it would boot up to the black screen and I'd get E 74 again. Other times the xbox would almost immediately overheat. Most of the time I would get 0020, though. At that point, I gave up and I just tightened up the bolts replacing the x-clamp a certain way (nothing seemed special about it) and put the motherboard back in the case without testing it. I screwed everything back together, and since the heads of the bolts were thicker than they should have been, the motherboard didn't really sit flat in the metal cage. But i just screwed the motherboard back into the cage not to tight with the 9 small silver screws, which I would imagine put some stress on the mobo. Then I pu the rest of the case on and the 6 long screws, and once I had snapped everything back together I tried booting it up. To my great surprise it booted up fine! I played some halo 3 and it has booted up fine every time (3 times) since then
Many people have got this error You need to replace the xclamp and make sure there's extra pressure (less than half a turn) on the front right corner of the GPU. You can read more about xclamp replacement here.

its not an issue with ur HDD so no worries....

Xbox 360 Error Code 0021

So, you took apart the Xbox 360?

The Xbox 360 has serious cooling problems; compressed air usually does wonders for the Xbox.

You'll "brick" your Xbox tampering with the fan and heat sink; soft mods are always a bad idea if you don't have any recourse for fixing the system.

Hard Mods/Mod Chips are the best way to go because you have dual boot capabilities; you can boot to the original Xbox OS or the Mod Chip firmware.

Currently, Microsoft is being sued for the number of Xbox 360 consoles experiencing the "Red Rings of Death."

Microsoft is making amends by fixing the Xbox 360 at no charge.

Taking the Xbox apart yourself may void your warranty; you might start by uses an Ohm Meter to check the heat sink and fan connections.

Also make sure there is not a gap between the heat sink and the processor; this space should be filled with the thermal compound.

Furthermore, the fan might be damaged and not reporting the fan speed through the variable resistance wire; only way to determine this is by powering the fan with +5v / -5v and checking the variable resistance wire with an Ohm meter.
