Dewalt dc011 ! wont charge batteies

I have this radio ! now in bits, i have traced he problem to the circuit board to which the battery fits on whilst charging. When the mains is on and the battery in, it blows the fuse on the Circuit board.
With the battery out the radio works off the mains as normal.
Now if i unplug the 2 wire (blue and grey) feed to the circuit board i can play off both the batt and mains but cant charge ! is the problem the grey box on the bottom ?

My dewalt says its chargeing the battery and it works when plugged in but wont work with the battery alone

I think it might be a dead battery. By that i mean one that no longer holds a charge, try using the battery in something else, if it works the battery must be good and that means that there is something wrong with the radio itself. It could possibly mean that there is a shorted circuit somewhere, and that i cannot help with.

Dco11 got wet, charges but no radio

HI BVanhook,,

You have probably increased damage by trying to power the unit when it is wet. Any time you get electronics wet, you should not apply power when a chance the circuit is wet. This is becasue a form of Electroplating occurs. Metal from one circuit trace will move to another. Heat will build from short circuiting and the circuit will destroy itself.
Disassemble the Radio and Display, dry it throughly. Do not apply any more power until you have thoroughly inspected the circuitry with a magnifying glass to see if any of the Electroplating occured. Clean it up by scratching the short circuits between the traces to clear the connections made by the Electroplating. Good Luck

My dewalt radio charges, but has no display and wont play anything at all

Try this if the display seems stuck on the same station: If you take off the front of the radio (don't forget 2 screws in back!) you will notice a set of black and red wires running from the 2 AA backup batteries to the digital display circuit board. The wires plug into the board with a little white plug. If you unplug this the display will fade to nothing. If you plug it back in it will display an unset digital clock format. This seems to reset the radio, after which it should work.

How do you reset the radio to charge batteries

Never heard of a way !!! have a look inside your radio at the fuses x 3 1st fuse near transformer on ciruit board, 2nd on circuit board where battery connects to radio and 3rd in the charger its self on the circuit board. This is white in colour, to replace this fuse you will need to desolder it as I have just changed mine.
