Question about Panasonic KX-TG2357 Cordless Phone

No link to base Panasonic KX-TG2357

It tells me to move closer to the base, both handsets started this at the same time, even when standing right next to the base. Whassup, please? Keith

    This is a new problem - I have had the phone for years.

    whats up/?

    the battery seems ok....

    Is it a problem at the bas or in the phone?

    Both bases report the same issue- And I don't own a wireless router.

    I am facing the same problem.. as soon as I press talk, it states..No link to base....try again.
    The phone is charged, the battery seems okay.

Astoundingly, the KXTG2357 works only with the original handsets it came with! You cannot replace a handset by buying another one (same model, of course) and register it with the base. How ridiculous is that? It's like buying a lamp that works only with the bulb that came with it. Replacement bulbs won't work. Well, Panasonic is one company I won't be dealing with anymore!

So, the solution is to get along with one less handset, or buy a new phone unit!

Can not rec a dial tone, phone states no link to base move closer

If “No link to base. Move closer to base, try again.” is displayed
even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit.
• Make sure the base unit is not being used.
• Have both handsets and base unit nearby during registration.
• Follow steps 1–3 listed below. You have about 1 minute to complete them.
• Confirm the extension number of the handset which has lost the communication by placing the handset on the base unit or charger.
 If you re-register the handset using the other handset’s extension number, the other handset will not function.
• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
• You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] on the base unit.

1 Base unit: Press and hold [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] until a beep sounds.
• The CHARGE indicator flashes.

2 Base unit: Press the extension number [1] (handset symbol 1 ) or [2] (handset symbol 2) of the
handset which has lost the communication.

3 Handset: Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until “Handset Registering” is displayed.
• When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset and the display shows the number.
• Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.


• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
• You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] on the base unit.

Panasonic KX-TG2367 says "No link to base".
This worked for my mother's KX-TG2357:

We tried doing what it said in the manual on page 54. That didn't work! She then decided to just unplug everything. About 3-5 minutes later, plugged everything back in, and lo and behold, everything was working fine!!

The handset is away from the range of the base. Keep the handset on the base for some time and then try again.

Model#kx-tg6071b when talk button is pushed, screen shows" no link to base move closer, try again". That is what appears on both handsets.
Press MENU, scroll down to INITIAL SETTINGS (press select), scroll down to REGISTRATION (press select), then select HS REGISTRATION, and follow the instructions on the handset screen. This is for the KX-TG6071B, but is similar for most Panasonic Cordless phones. That will link the handset to the base, and YOU MUST DO IT WITH EACH HANDSET.

No link to base move closer to base
Your getting this message because the radio portion of the handset or/and base is not communicating with each other. This can be temporary or fatal. You can try re-registering the handset(s) to the base by following the directions in the manual, its fairly easy to do for any model. If that does not work,and you have more than one handset not working with this problem, then it sounds as if your base needs repair or replacing.

unplug both wires at back of base and replug after about 5 minutes - it should work now

cannot call cell phones by contact input or by manually dialing the numbers. At a loss as what could be causing this cannot dial manually or by contact input cell phone numbers. No matter how many different ways we tried. tried using the cell feature and it says "busy" but call had not even tried to go through. Sometimes it will ring but then it will say "phone number not correct" even though it is. It does this even when we try manually. It seems it only works when dialing landlines.
