Question about Televison & Video
We just purchased a Norcent 42" Plasma HDTV for Christmas. I have purchased a couple of universal remote controls in order to have a second remote for the tv. Neither code list includes Norcent products. Does anyone have these codes or a suggestion on where to find one? I have already emailed the company but have not had a response, which doesn't bode well for the tech support, if ever needed. Thanks!
Try other manufacturers' codes. I used 10178 (a code for MGA TV) and it worked on my Norcent. The other codes for MGA are 10150 and 10030.

Some manufacturers products do not support universal remote controls and unfortunately it looks as if Norcent is one of them, not what you want to hear I'm sure, but you may find these comments of some help ( I found them on another site )
Pros: Excellent picture quality and overall high quality construction. Plenty of input and output options.
Cons: Runs a little warm but guess thats to be expected with plasma.
After several months use I am very pleased with this set. Excellent overall quality and superb EDTV picture. It is a little bit of a challange to set up but not intolerable. The built in speakers are not too impressive, and the manual failed to mention that in order to use external speakers one of the four "audio inputs" must be reset using the remote to function as "audio out". Tech support was very helpful in explaining how to accomplish this. Speaking of the remote, without it making any sort of adjustments to menu settings becomes really challenging when done at the set. I could not find a aftermarket remote for this set for under $100, and even those only performed limited functions. I would strongly suggest purchasing a second one direct from Norcent ($20.00 at the time).
