  • Description: printer will not print in windows xp - ecblank.gif ecblank.gif

ecblank.gif The most current driver for this product is already included in the Windows XP Operating System. Currently there are no updated drivers available. Follow the instructions below to correctly install your printer.

    NOTES:
Select "Oki Data ML 320 Turbo/D (IBM)" from the XP CD.

The ML390/1 Turbo Printers are not on the current XP CD. Please use the IBM Proprinter or Epson LQ driver for these models.

The driver should automatically install once the printer is connected to the computer and powered on. If it does not automatically install, then do the following:

    1. Click Start, then Control Panel.
    2. Click Printers and Other Hardware or Printers and Faxes.
    3. Verify that the printer icon is not already installed
    4. Click Start, Turn Off Computer, then Turn Off to shut down the computer.
    5. Connect the data cable either USB or parallel. If it is not then continue to step 5.
    6. Turn on the printer.
    7. Turn on the computer.
    8. The printer will now be automatically detected

Try updating the driver to the printer, it could be an old driver.

How can I display the number of pages my printer has printed? I need to work out the costing for my business. Can I reset the counter? Cheers Jennifer

You can print a printer status report, print self test page from printer as standalone.there are details mentioned there about the page printed by your printer since you set it up.Page count started from the first time printer prints anything when you set it up and it collates all of it till present.

You also need to consider the ype of printer you have.

You can also print test page from PC to printer

this is example for windows xp.
windows xp is printers and faxes
windows vista is hardware and sound then printers
windows 7 is devices and printers

I have window 7 64bit and the keyspan software installed fine but the server utility does not recognize the print server. I allowed port 3842 tcp and udp through the windows firewall but still no luck.

for key span server to work with windows 7 install windows xp mode to windows 7 ( this can be downloaded from microsoft website if you have windows 7 pro and above. if you have windows 7 home then install windows virtual pc, start it up and insert a windows xp pro install disk. for info on this google 'workaround to install windows xp mode in windows 7 home premium and home basic') Once you have windows xp mode running, install the keyspan server utility int he virtual machine and setup as usuall. then share the printer. go to windows 7 devices and printers and add a printer, chose a network printer, select the new virtual machine and select the shared printer. In order for the printer to work just start up the keyspan program from windows 7 and print....your welcome.

Drjve hp1012 for windows vista basines

At this moment there is no Vista driver for this printer.
You may download the current XP driver from HP to provide printing functionality. Windows Vista printing is very similar to Windows XP and most print drivers supported in XP environment for LaserJet printers may also work in the Windows Vista operating system.

Pixma IP3000 will not print

try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.

Refuses to print in XP - no error messages

Try going to 'add & remove hardware'. Remove the COM ports. Reboot your computer. Windows should find your hardware and install the COM ports. If not, add the COM ports manually. Leave the printer COM port settings on COM port 1 or COM port 2, whichever you prefer.
