Re: Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS is off

If the GPS is off, you have to go into the settings menu and change it. There should be three settings - Normal, GPS off and WAAS/EGNOS. Choose Normal or WAAS/EGNOS and you should be ok.

My Garmin Nuvi 855 is locking up. I can only get as far as entering the city and sometimes not even that when entering an address. How do I fix?

Go to Garmin's site and download & install the Web Updater as directed. The address is:

After running the updater on your nuvi 855, it will have the latest firmware (this process does not download and install the latest map software) and should solve your problem.

If you continue to have problems, you might want to contact Garmin Customer Support directly at the address below:

The people there are knowledgeable and can solve many problems over the phone. Their service is free of charge.

My garmin 350nuvi will not acquire sattelites

Make sure to flip your antenna horizontally or 90 degrees and not vertically or 180 dgrees. I see to many people try to use their older nuvi this way and it does not function well.
Try also updating your unit with the latest firmware from Garmin, this helps sometimes.
You may have moved to a location that is far away from the last location your Garmin nuvi 350 was last use, try to keep your unit on for 30 minutes or more to see if it will acquire GPS sattelites.
Last, certain vehicles have shielded windshields and GPS does not work well with these windshield, this can be eaisly verify by simply taking your nuvi 350 out of your vehicle and turn it on with a clear view to the sky, if that still does not work, it could be a defective GPS receiver or GPS connection in which case you should consider sending it in to Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc in San Jose CA or Garmin.
You may also consider replacing your nuvi 350 with a newer model nuvi with fresher map.

Good luck

Garmin Nuvi Firmaware Update Complete, Unable to catch satellite signal

So what happens when you connect it to the PC?
Make sure no sd cards are installed while you do this.
download and install web updater, run it it gets to a screen where it looks for the gps, plug the usb cable into the GPS (no USB hubs please!!!) Make sure it detects the GPS before you continue. Select the updates you need (don't install all the languages !!) after this is done the program will report the downloads are on the garmin, unplug the unit and it will reboot and whilst rebooting it will install the don't touch it until it reboots again and displays the regular screen....and make sure the batery is fully charged before you do this...!

Garmin nuvi 350 time change

Garmin released firmware version 4.40 to correct DST (daylight saving time in the United States) If your device firmware is 4.40 or later then it should correct once you turn the unit on it acquire a satellite lock.

If your unit firmware is earlier than 4.40 then you will have to update to the latest firmware from garmin site.

If you don't want to upgrade then reset your timezone to one that is an hour earlier. Or wait until April and it will change time by itself.

Have you downloaded the latest firmware for the unit? If not, download the Web Updater from Garmin and download the latest version. This may help. Also, make sure the antenna is fully extended while using the unit.
