Re: I need to encript my router to prevent other users...

Start by opening up your internet browser and typing in the default IP Address that linksys uses
it will ask you for a user name and password.
type admin into the password space
after that see if you can follow the interface I can't remember exactly how it's laid out.

Good Luck!

How to find encription code for 46E019 ROUTER

"encription code"? Security Key? Password? If you have the wireless secured, only you have the password. You can reset it to default settings and reconfigure the SSID and Security Key. If you supply the Make, Model of wireless device, it would be helpful.

How to block others from using my router

Using the manual here (choose the version that fits to your router model), enter the setup interface and set a Wireless security/encription, assigning a password for the wireless connection - so only people who knows this password can connect/use your router!

How do I shrink my wireless to just my house?

There is no way to limit the signal of the wireless connection outside of your own premise. The only possible way to prevent others from accessing your wireless network is to set a Password on your router/gateway configuration and to make the wireless name hidden or to not broadcasting mode. Your wireless name will be invisible plus all users will be asked about the password that only you knows.

You can set all this configuration by accessing the router's/gateway's GUI (Graphical user interface). You may need to contact the manufacturer of your device to know the username and password for accessing it or you may refer to your User's Manual.

Should you have any other questions just please leave a comment.

Low signal strength

Having many users connected to a single WAP (wireless access point) will not affect the signal strength. It will however, affect the speeds each user is capable of.

Most Linksys routers have a homepage address of - Enter this in your web browser.

From there you will be able to find wireless settings and enable either a password or a WEP key for security.

If you found this helpful please leave feedback.
