Whirlpool ED5VHGXML10. ice maker not working. Water not filling

If you look in the freezer there is a wire rod that goes from the ice tray to the bucket that the ice dumps into. As the level of the ice gets higher it pushes up on this wire rod to shut off the ice making operation. When the level of the ice drops the wire rod is suppose to drop and the ice making operation is suppose to resume. However a lot of times this wire rod sticks in the up position when the ice level drops. You just need to pull down on the wire rod. Try that, I think you will find that this is your problem.
