Re: rear speakers

If have a VOM check for voltage at the amp. If not, a cheap trouble light (often in cheap tool bin) will tell if have voltage. this will tell if the problem is the head unit or the amp or wiring.

Occasionally the remote wire will have a fuse in line.

Hello, I installed the Sony mex bt4100p in my wife's car and the rear channel is just subwoofer I have a dud?

Check the Sony book on the outputs for that receiver. THere should be a choice of regular speakers or subwoofer outputs. You used the wrong outputs from the radio. I may be mistaken...there may be only one set of outlets but there may be a selector switch in the radio that sets the frequency!

Will the sony Xpod car audio CDX be able to power a subwoofer

no not at all a deck can never power a subwoofer you need an amp the only speakers a deck will power is your fronts and rears aka mids and highs. you will need an amp to run a subwoofer. I hope I answered your question, if so please vote and leave high marks. Thank you very much

Jvc kd-g340 rear speakers not working. I recently bought the car with this unit installed. I noticed that there is a l/r cable, power, ground in the trunk which means there was probably a subwoofer...

check the wires in the back of the stereo if not then make sure the back speakers are not hooked up to a internal amp and if it is make sure that it is not blown

Replaced rear factory speakers now have low volume

Factory speakers usually have low resistance ( 2 ohm) When replacing speakers with aftermarket, most aftermarket speakers will be 4 ohm. If you want the same sound you may have to buy some resistors to put on the speakers (across the + and -). By putting a 4 ohm resistor across the connectors will now make the speaker 2 ohms which in effect will raise the volume. Depending in what vehicle you replaced the speakers the resistance will vary.

Please help

I don't think you can do that if your system was not designed for the additional speakers and a subwoofer. Your system is not a Home Theater surround sound system.
You could add the additional speakers by splicing the speaker wires but I wouldn't recommend it and it would not work like a true surround sound system.

Subwoofer instalation

Even if your JVC doesn't have outputs for a subwoofer you can hook it up with the a speaker wire to RCA converter. You just spice your rear speaker wires to this device then connect RCA's to your amp. I've used them before... works great.
