Microwave Fan won't shut off, no display

posted by mbgirl on Jan 05, 2008

Hi.. we were cooking in the oven below our microwave and the a little in the microwave when the entire microwave shut off all power, except the fan kicked on and will not turn off. We let it run for about 5 hours or so and no lights ever came back on or it never shut off. We unplugged it for days, but once we plug it back in the fan kicks on again and there is still no disply power. Any ideas?

Depending on which brand you have I would think that the Thermal switch on top of the magnetron or one of the door switches has probably given up the ghost. However, if the display does not come on you probably have a micro or Psu fault on the display panel. Not to be attempted if you are not familiar with microwaves or electronics. Please unplug before opening. Good Luck, JUS004
