How can I send and receive a fax from Lexmark x4270.?

You can send faxes via the operator panel, the All-In-One Center, or the fax driver.
Using the Operator Panel:
  1. Make sure your All-In-One is switched on.
  2. Load up to 30 sheets of your original document face down in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Note: When you load small paper sizes, place your document in the center of the tray and adjust the paper guides to the edges of the paper.
  3. On the operator panel, press Fax.
Using the keypad you can:
  • Enter the fax number, and then press Black or Color.
  • Press Speed Dial, and then:
- Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list to find the number you want, and then press Black or Color. - Use the keypad to enter a two-digit number (viewable in the upper left of the display), and then press Black or Color.
The All-In-One scans your document and sends your fax to the number you entered.
Using the All-In-One Center:
  1. Make sure your All-In-One is attached to a computer.
  2. Load up to 30 sheets of your original document face down in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Note: When you load small paper sizes, place your document in the center of the tray and adjust the paper guides to the edges of the paper.
  3. From your desktop, double-click the Lexmark 4200 Series All-In-One Center icon. The All-In-One Main Page appears.
  4. Under Productivity Tools, click Fax an image or document.
  5. Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the task.

Fax problem

Check your preference settings and make sure the fax is set to receive faxes (my friends has 6 different settings) Your manual should tell you how to do this. The default is different for many fax machines.

Error message 1203 on Lemark X4270

Does your unit have a printhead cleaning manager. Do this a few times. Check to see if you have to reset ink levels too.
