Acer 5100 keyboard & touchpad inaccessable
Problem for Acer Aspire 5100 PC Notebook
ACER ASPIRE 5100-ATI VIDEO CARD problems/ ALSO CRASHES
I donwloaded new driver from the Acer web site for ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, when I try o install them I get a message that says,
SETUP CAN NOT PROCEEDS THE LENGHT OF THE SPECIFIED DIRECTORY PATH PLUS THE INSTALLATION FOLDER NAME EXCEEDS 88 CHARACTERS.
My second issue is when I move the laptop around and turn it on it won't find the hard drive, I have to turn it on and off at least 3 times for it to boot up. Sometimes I get a blue screen that has a message that is dumping memore and a code 0x00000007???

Make a folder on the c drive in the root directory called "driver". Move the files you downloaded into that directory. You can install now because the directory path will only be C:\driver\installXXX
Your other problem is a loose or defective hd. If loose try the screws, if defective replace.
